Izuri oborokombu seaweed only comes from Hokkaido island and once hand scraped in the most traditional of ways, it is seasoned with black barley vinegar and pure Shimanto river water. This brushing is considered by connaisseurs as a real culinary masterpiece.
It is delicious once wrapped around a rice ball ( onigiri ) or a sashimi ( a thin slice of raw fish) or added to a soup or stock. Don't be afraid of sprinkling it over a good dish of pasta, the result is surprising.
However we suggest you chop it finely and add it to veal or beef tartare (marinate like this for 30 min to 1 hour ). A unique experience!
